McCormick to lead Evergreen Equity Income fund

Walter T. McCormick was named lead portfolio manager of the $1.2 billion Evergreen Equity Income Fund, said spokesman Dan Flaherty. Mr. McCormick replaces Sujatha Avutu, who left Evergreen to pursue other opportunities, said Mr. Flaherty; he had no details on Ms. Avutu’s plans. Gary Mishuris, a senior equity analyst, was named a portfolio manager on the same fund, Mr. Flaherty said; Mr. Mishuris will retain his analyst responsibilities. Emory Sanders, also a senior equity analyst, was named a portfolio manager of the $1.2 billion Evergreen Fundamental Large Cap Fund, whose investment team is also led by Mr. McCormick; he will retain his analyst responsibilities.
