R. Todd Gardenhire was appointed by President Bush as chairman of the PBGCs advisory committee, according to a PBGC news release. Mr. Gardenhire, senior vice president in Citigroup Global Markets Smith Barney division, succeeds James Nevels, chairman of the Swarthmore Group. Mr. Nevels term as committee chairman expired Feb. 28, according to PBGC spokesman Jeffrey Speicher. Mr. Gardenhire was already on the advisory committee.
Also appointed to the committee were Richard A. Manka, CIO for the $5.5 billion retirement plans of Kroger Co., Cincinnati, and Paul Clinton Harris Sr., a partner with the law firm Shook, Hardy & Bacon.
