The House Financial Services Committee today approved a bill that requires the federal government to publish a list of companies doing business in Iran and allows state and local pension plans and other government entities to divest from these companies without fear of litigation. The bill also would protect fund managers, mutual fund managers and corporate pension plans that divest from Iran against sanctions by shareholders, according to a news release from the committee.
