George Wilson was named CIO of the Boston Foundation, confirmed David Trueblood, a spokesman for the $830 million foundation. He will report to Paul Grogan, the foundations president and CEO. He replaces Jerrold Mitchell, who left at the end of April to join a private investment management company that manages assets of a specific family, Mr. Trueblood said; he declined to name the company. Mr. Wilson was president and owner of Hillcrest Asset Management, which is no longer in business, Mr. Trueblood said. Before Hillcrest, Mr. Wilson was a senior investment officer at Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board, Boston, overseeing at different times real estate, REITs, timber and private equity.
