State Street will be the first firm to add the Russell Global indexes as benchmarks to its performance and analytics products. Investors will be able to better monitor their portfolios and more closely match benchmarks to specific strategies and investment opportunities, Patrick Centanni, senior vice president heading State Streets products and technology solutions team, said in a statement.
The indexes include about 10,000 securities in 63 countries, covering 98% of the global market open to investors. They are grouped according to size, region, country and sector so that 300 global benchmarks can be constructed into more than 20,000 specific benchmarks.
