Kathleen Andleman was named general counsel at the $157.8 billion California State Teachers Retirement System, Sacramento, effective April 2, according a news release. She will report to Jack Ehnes, CEO, and will serve as chief legal counsel to the retirement board and lead the funds legal services team, Sherry Reser, spokeswoman, confirmed in an e-mail. Ms. Andleman replaces Chris Waddell, who left CalSTRS in October to take a similar job at the $4.7 billion San Diego City Employees Retirement System.
Ms. Andleman was chief counsel at the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board.
