Marie Chandoha was hired as head of the U.S. fixed-income business at BGI. It is a new position. She reports to Peter Knez, CIO of global fixed income. About a year ago, the firm decided to focus more on individual regions within its fixed-income group and began searching for a U.S. head, said Lance Berg, a BGI spokesman. Brian Zalaznick, who was acting as head of the business, will now be global head of fixed-income structuring. As of Dec. 31, the domestic fixed-income group managed $105 billion in assets, according to a news release.
Ms. Chandoha was co-head and senior portfolio manager of the Montgomery Fixed Income Division, the fixed-income team within Wells Capital. Her responsibilities were divided internally among four portfolio managers, said William Stevens, a senior portfolio manager at Montgomery.
