William Hackett was named president of Matthews International Capital Management. He replaces Mark Headley, who will remain CEO of the $9.1 billion firm and president of Matthews Asian Funds.
I am happily shedding that title, said Mr. Headley, who wanted to focus more on the investment side of the business. Mr. Hackett will focus on operations, administration, finances and business development strategies.
Mr. Hackett was a partner with the global investment management practice at Deloitte & Touche. Chris Faile, spokesman at Deloitte in New York, did not return a call for comment before press time.
