Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association, Denver, will be required to divest its investments tied to Sudan if a bill passed Monday by the state Senate is signed by Gov. Bill Ritter. The bill had previously been approved by the state House. Mr. Ritter is expected to sign the bill, said Travis Gasper, spokesman for Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff, who sponsored it.
Katie Kaufmanis, spokeswoman for the $36 billion fund, was not available for comment at press time.
