Robert J. Whelan will join Eaton Vance in April as vice president and director of finance; he will become CFO when William M. Steul retires at the end of the company’s current fiscal year on Oct. 31, according to a news release. Mr. Whelan was executive vice president and CFO of Boston Private Wealth Management Group. The group’s spokeswoman, Catharine Sheehan, couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Whelan will be Eaton Vance finance director
