BNP Paribas Asset Management created new investment management teams, shifting its traditional, structured and indexed businesses, according to a news release. One team, alpha management, will be responsible for traditional assets such as equities and fixed income. The other teams are multi-alpha portfolio management, which includes structured and indexed businesses; and investment and business solutions.Christian Dargnat, CIO of BNP Paribas Asset Management, will be head of alpha management. Denis Panel will head the multi-alpha group, and Frederic Surry will head the investment solutions group; both positions are new. Mr. Panel was head of international balanced management and Mr. Surry was head of client servicing and process at Credit Agricole Asset Managements balanced management and strategy division. CAAM spokeswoman Catherine Lowinger could not be reached for comment by press time.
BNP Paribas also named Thierry Rojat head of European equities, replacing Olivier Rudigoz. Mr. Rojat was senior manger at Metropole Gestions, a Paris-based asset manager. Mr. Rudigoz will remain at BNP Paribas as fund manager.
