Video clips are being used by nearly one in three institutional investment managers for client communications, and most of the firms find them effective, according to a survey by consulting firm Eager, Davis & Holmes, Louisville, Ky.
More than 70% of firms using video communications said they are likely to use more in the future. Most firms that use video clips do so for product updates such as quarterly reviews for clients. The clips are most commonly posted on manager websites or sent as e-mail attachments.
The firm interviewed eight managers in depth, and 43 managers responded to a broader quantitative survey. Participants include PIMCO, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Prudential Fixed Income and Janus Capital Group.
