A package containing a pipe bomb that was sent to a Chicago office building last week was initially mailed to Janus Capital Group in Denver, confirmed spokesman Blair Johnson. Janus forwarded the package to Perkins, Wolf, McDonnell, a subadviser for the firm. Mr. Johnson could not disclose other details but said mail employees are trained by the U.S. Postal Service to recognize suspicious packages, but they did not notice anything wrong. Wanda Shipp, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, was not available for comment by press time.
