Enhanced Analytics Initiative today named 11 research houses that provide "the best analysis of extra-financial factors" and would be eligible for a slice of at least 5% of EAI members' brokerage commissions or research budgets for the first half of 2007, said David Blood, EAI chairman. The research firms include Bernstein Research, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Innovest Strategic Value Advisors and Morgan Stanley.
But Mr. Blood said research houses still needed to improve their analysis of extra-financial factors, particularly for the pharmaceutical, banking and insurance sectors. "The research we are receiving is not of the standard we are looking for. We want to see a significant improvement in the quality of the research over the next couple of years."
EAI members include the $157.8 billion California State Teachers' Retirement System, Calvert Group, the e209 billion ($270.88 billion) Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP, AXA Investment Managers, Hermes Pensions Management and the e81 billion Stichting Pensioenfonds PGGM.
