Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association, Pasadena, Calif., issued an RFP for up to two managers to run a $500 million active emerging markets equity portfolio. The fund has $1.2 billion in emerging markets equity now in passive and active portfolios. Funding will come from a passively managed MSCI Emerging Markets portfolio run by Barclays Global Investors.
The mandates will be benchmarked to the MSCI Emerging Markets index, according to the RFP. The deadline is Feb. 16, and selections are expected to be made late in the second quarter. The RFP is located on the $36.7 billion association's website at www.lacera.com.
