Stichting Pensioenfonds PGGM, Zeist, Netherlands, will commit €250 million ($323 million) to Albright Capital Management, a long-term global emerging markets specialist manager chaired by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, spokesman Paul Wevers said. The move is not only part of the €81 billion pension fund's strategy to increase its emerging markets exposure, but also to further integrate investment decisions with the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investments, Mr. Wevers said.
"Identification of common goals was a prominent factor behind our desire for PGGM to act as a strategic investor," Ms. Albright said in a news release. "PGGM and Albright Capital believe that integrating global citizenship, good corporate governance, socially responsible policies and transparency into a comprehensive emerging markets investment program will improve results."
Mr. Wevers declined to specify the source of funding.
