Half of 145 private equity investors surveyed predict net three- to five-year returns of 16% or more in 2007, according to Coller Capital's Global Private Equity Barometer. Forty-nine percent of investors plan to increase their private equity allocations over the next 12 months, and 57% plan to increase their alternative investment allocations. Also, 97% were pleased with their private equity returns over the last year, and of those investors, 56% indicated they were "very pleased." The survey was conducted between August and October.
