Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association, Pasadena, Calif., will search for up to two managers to run $250 million each in active emerging markets equities, said Juan M. Almaguer, principal investment officer, public markets for the $36.7 billion fund. Fund officials decided to increase active management. Funding will come from a passively managed MSCI Emerging Markets portfolio run by Barclays Global Investors. Capital Guardian also manages $675 million in active emerging markets equities for the association.
The RFP is expected to be posted on the association's website at www.lacera.com as early as Jan. 26, with selections to be made late in the second quarter, Mr. Almaguer said.
