Alaska Airlines, Seattle, made a voluntary contribution of $50 million in cash to four pension plans covering employees in its airport, dispatch, maintenance, management and pilot work groups, confirmed Jay Schaefer, treasurer. The airline has contributed a total of$122 million to the plans this year. According to the airline's annual report, the plans had a total of $680 million in assets as of Dec. 31, the most recent number available. At that time, the airline's pension plans were 69% funded, Mr. Schaefer said.
