The New York State Teachers' Retirement System, Albany, authorized $1 billion in private equity and real estate investments, confirmed John Cardillo, spokesman for the $84 billion system.
The private equity commitments were: $200 million to Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners VI; $100 million to Nautic Partners VI; $75 million to TSG 5; and $25 million to Valhalla Partners II, Mr. Cardillo said.
The fund invested $100 million each in international real estate funds managed by Citigroup Property Investors; RREEF; LaSalle Investment Partners; and European Investors. It invested $50 million each in the Doughty Hanson V fund; Prima Capital's investment-grade REIT bonds fund; a USAA Real Estate industrial REIT fund; and the CPI Capital Partners North America fund, Mr. Cardillo said.
