Institutional Shareholder Services will begin to provide reputational risk reports for 1,400 U.S., Canadian and European companies to address global investors' interest "to incorporate broad sustainability indicators" in their investment research, according to an ISS statement. These reports will "help investment managers minimize portfolio risk associated with environmental, social and governance factors," including issues related to board oversight, accounting disclosure, climate change, labor practices, human rights, ethics and ties to oppressive regimes, the statement said. "The reports examine these sustainability issues, related controversies and the potential impact on company reputation," according to the ISS statement.
