Franklin Resources subsidiaries reported a combined $511.3 billion in assets under management for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up 4.3% from the previous quarter and up 12.8% from last year, according to a news release. Inflows exceeded outflows by $2.4 billion for the quarter, compared with $1.3 billion the prior quarter and $8 billion a year ago.
Separately, Janus Capital Group reported $158.3 billion in assets under management for the third quarter, up 3.1% from the previous quarter and up 13.5% from the year before, according to a news release. The quarterly increase, which includes Janus' INTECH subsidiary, reflects $300 million in money market net inflows, $100 million in long-term net outflows and $4.7 billion in market appreciation and fund performance. INTECH reported $55.6 billion in assets as of Sept. 30, up 7.9% from the previous quarter and up 45.5% from last year. INTECH had net third-quarter inflows of $1.7 billion. Excluding INTECH, Janus had $1.8 billion in long-term net outflows in the third quarter, compared with $3 billion the previous quarter.
