UBS Global Asset Management, together with International Index Co., launched three U.S. Pension Liability indexes that will seek to benchmark U.S. pension liability performance, according to Karina Byrne, a spokeswoman for the firm. The indexes are: the iBoxx U.S. Pension index - Active Member, which mimics the performance of an active employee's liability profile for a model U.S. pension plan; the iBoxx US Pension index - Retired Member, which mimics a retired employee's profile; and the the iBoxx U.S. Pension index - Aggregate, which mimics the overall performance of a model defined benefit plan, including liabilities for both active and retired employees.
