Christopher M. DeRose was hired as executive director of the $73 billion Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, Columbus, replacing Laurie Hacking, who left the fund in February to join the $7.3 billion Minnesota Teachers Retirement Association, St. Paul, as executive director, said Richard Baker, spokesman for the Ohio fund. Mr. DeRose was chief executive and director of the $59 billion Michigan State Employees Retirement Systems, Lansing. Edward Woods III, a spokesman for Michigan, said the state pension plan is seeking to replace Mr. DeRose.
