The Louisiana Sheriffs' Pension & Relief Fund, Baton Rouge, may initiate an invitation-only search in the next six months for opportunistic and value-added real estate managers and a hedge fund manager, said Osey "Skip" McGee, executive director. Consultant Russell Investment Group is educating the $1.3 billion plan's board about the asset classes. No decisions have been made on funding or portfolio size, but no managers would be terminated, Mr. McGee said. The fund currently has 5% of its assets in real estate and 3% in hedge funds and wants further diversification.
