Christopher H. Arbuthnot was hired as an analyst for the equity team at Sovereign Asset Management, confirmed spokeswoman Beth McGoldrick. Mr. Arbuthnot reports to Timothy E. Keefe, senior vice president and chief equity officer. The equity team manages separate accounts for institutional investors and retail mutual funds. Mr. Arbuthnot completed his MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. Before that, he was an associate in corporate and investment banking at Wachovia Securities. Sovereign has roughly $25 billion in assets under management.
Dennis Pattison was named first vice president at RNC Genter Capital Management. It is a new position, said Kenneth Certain, senior vice president and director of the firm's institutional division. Mr. Pattison had been vice president of the division and will keep those duties as part of his new job. RNC Genter Capital has $2.3 billion in assets under management, of which about $575 million is run for institutions.
