Peter Clark was promoted to chairman of Schroder Investment Management North America, a new position, and Jamie Dorrien-Smith will be CEO and head of distribution in North America, said Nik Ekholm, spokesman. Mr. Clark was CEO. Mr. Dorrien-Smith will remain head of the global financial institutions group. Steven Johnson, the former head of distribution in North America, left the firm recently to become the founding partner of DLB Capital, a new private equity firm in Greenwich, Conn., Mr. Ekholm said.
Jason Buss was named director of recruiting at Russell Investment Group. The new position was created in response to Russell's global expansion, said Jennifer Tice, spokeswoman. Mr. Buss will help Russell fill positions across all business areas, Ms. Tice said; she declined to provide specifics. "We are always looking for top talent," she noted. Russell's assets under management have doubled in the past three years to $171 billion as of June 30. Over that time, the company has hired more than 700 staff members worldwide, bringing Russell's total headcount to 2,000 in 20 offices, according to a news release.
James E. Fitzgerald will join Principal Real Estate Investors Sept. 5 as managing director to help launch the firm's new hotel investment business, said Tina Marchetti, spokeswoman. Mr. Fitzgerald was co-founder and executive vice president and CIO of REH Capital Partners, a real estate investment and advisory firm. Francis Nardozza, chairman and CEO of REH Capital Partners, could not be reached by press time for information about a replacement.
