U.K. balanced pooled funds returned a median 0.5% in July, compared with 1.1% in June, according to Mellon Analytical Solutions' CAPS Pooled Pension Fund Database.
The funds returned 7.4% for the 10 years ended July 31. Over one-, three- and five-year periods ended July 31, balanced pooled funds returned 12.5%, 13.9%, and 5.4%, respectively. All figures for more than one year are annualized.
Active U.K. equity managers had a median return of 0.9% for July, just below the FTSE All-Share index return of 1.3%. The top performer was index-linked portfolios with a 2.7% return; the lowest performer in July was a Japanese equity portfolio at -2.1%.
The database covers 74 separate U.K.-based asset managers who handle about £393 billion ($743 billion) in pooled funds.
