The median corporate pension plan returned -0.94% for the second quarter and 9.14% for the year ended June 30, and the median public pension fund returned -0.9% for the quarter and 9.44% for the year, according to data from Wilshire Associates' Trust Universe Comparison Service. Foundations and endowments returned a median -1.04% for the second quarter and 11.04% for the year ended June 30, and non-profits returned a median -1.07% for the quarter and 10.31% for the year. The median master trust returned -0.92% for the quarter and 9.28% for the year.
The TUCS benchmark includes about 1,400 plans with a combined $2.7 trillion in assets.
