The Illinois State Universities Retirement System, Champaign, hired Atlanta Life Investment Advisors to manage $15 million in active international equities, said Daniel L. Allen, CIO of the $14.2 billion system. The firm will be part of the system's manager development program, which is designed to promote use of emerging minority- and women-owned investment advisers, Mr. Allen said. The program has $250 million.
Fund officials also added $50 million to an active international equity portfolio managed by GlobeFlex Capital, for a total of $102 million.
The source of funding for the investments hasn't been decided, he added.
