Nasdaq Stock Market added another 2.2 million shares of London Stock Exchange Group PLC, bringing its total stake in the London exchange to 25.1%, according to a news release. Nasdaq spent about $51.1 million on its latest acquisition, its fourth purchase of LSE stock since the London bourse rejected an outright takeover offer in late March.
"We are pleased to have increased our strategic investment in LSE in excess of the important threshold of 25%," Bob Greifeld, president and CEO of Nasdaq, said in the release.
