Chase Investment Counsel has been named one of the Liberty All-Star Equity Fund's investment managers, replacing Mastrapasqua Asset Management, according to a news release from the board of trustees of the $1.4 billion closed-end fund. The managed change was recommended by the fund's adviser, Banc of America Investment Advisors. The other subadvisers are Matrix Asset Advisors, Pzena Investment Management, Schneider Capital Management and TCW Investment Management.
Mark Haley, the Liberty Fund's vice president of investments, wasn't available for comment by press time. David B. Scott, senior vice president and director of Chase Investment, who will be portfolio manager for Chase's portion of the fund, wasn't immediately available for comment. Officials at Mastrapasqua declined to comment.
