David A. Antonelli was named CIO of non-U.S. and global equity investments at MFS Investment Management, and Michael W. Roberge was named CIO of U.S. investments, said spokesman John Riley. Both positions are new and part of a realignment reflecting the "tremendous growth in our international funds and portfolios," company CEO and CIO Robert J. Manning said in a news release. Messrs. Antonelli and Roberge will report to Mr. Manning.
Mr. Antonelli was chief equity officer and Mr. Roberge was chief fixed-income officer. Those positions won't be filled, but Donald M. Mykrantz, senior vice president and director of global trading, will become head of the fixed-income portfolio management team. Mr. Roberge will handle oversight of the equity portfolio management team.
Separately, David Sette Ducati, a portfolio manager of the MFS Mid Cap Growth and MFS Emerging Growth portfolios, will retire from the firm effective June 30. David Earnest, co-portfolio manager of Mid Cap Growth, will become the fund's lone portfolio manager, and Eric Fischman will remain lead portfolio manager on Emerging Growth.
