Virginia Retirement System, Richmond, issued an RFP for an actuarial consulting firm, according to the $44 billion retirement system's website. The contract will run from July 2006 through June 2011. The RFP can be found at http://jlarc.state.va.us/RFP2006_001.pdf; responses are due by March 16. The retirement system currently uses Mercer Human Resource Consulting as its actuarial consulting firm, said Trish Bishop, analyst for the Virginia Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission. The firm will be invited to rebid, said Ms. Bishop.
Also, Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System, Oklahoma City, issued an RFP for an actuarial consulting firm, according to the $5.6 billion retirement system's website. The contract will run for one year, beginning in July. The RFP can be viewed at www.opers.state.ok.us/pdfs/actrfp06.doc; responses are due by April 3. Tom Spencer, OPERS executive director, said the system currently uses Mercer Human Resources Consulting as it actuarial consulting firm; Mercer may rebid.
