Shiv Mehta, senior vice president and head of ING Investment Management's asset allocation business, died Wednesday of a heart attack while vacationing in Hawaii, according to company spokeswoman Tracey Gordon. Mr. Mehta, 48, joined ING in 2004 and was responsible for portfolio management of multiasset portfolios. Before that, he was managing director for investment product development at Credit Suisse Asset Management.
Ms. Gordon said Mr. Mehta's day-to-day responsibilities will be assumed by Brian Gendreau, investment strategist and a member of the asset allocation group.
Mr. Mehta is survived by a wife and two daughters. Funeral arrangements are pending.
