San Diego City Employees' Retirement System, at its March 17 board meeting, is expected to ask consultant Callan Associates to conduct the system's annual asset allocation review, said Doug McCalla, CIO for the $4 billion system. The results should be ready by June, he said.
Also on March 17, Cheiron, the system's actuary, is expected to release an actuarial report to the board. It should include the system's funded status as of June 30, 2005. The system has not had up-to-date information on its unfunded liability for three years. The last actuarial report showed that the system had a $1.4 billion unfunded liability as of June 30, 2003.
