Los Angeles Fire and Police Pension System's board issued an RFP for the system's first general investment consultant and plans to issue an RFP for an alternative investments consultant, said Tom Lopez, CIO. The $13 billion system had previously hired consultants on a project basis, he said, but the board now wants one on contract. The RFP is available on the fund's website at www.lacity.org. Proposals are due March 3, and finalists will make presentations in April.
The RFP for the alternative investments consultant will be issued within the next two weeks. Proposals are due in April, with finalist presentations in May. However, the board could halt the search for an alternative investments consultant if they find a general consultant with the desired experience.
