Mariusz Mazurek joined Metropolitan West Asset Management as a portfolio manager on the firm's high-yield bond team, said Chris Scibelli, director of marketing. The position is new. Mr. Mazurek was a director at Tennenbaum Capital Partners. When asked about a replacement, Frazer Burkart, an associate with Tennenbaum Capital, said the firm doesn't discuss personnel matters.
Barry P. Barbash, Karrie McMillan, Joel H. Goldberg, Margery K. Neale and Maria Gattuso left the law firm of Sherman & Sterling to join the investment management team of Willkie Farr & Gallagher. The group is being led by Mr. Barbash, who was named partner and head of Willkie Farr's investment management group. He and Ms. McMillan will be based in Washington, and the others will be in the law firm's New York headquarters. Mr. Barbash was director of the SEC's division of investment management for five years until September 1998.
