Robert P. Kelly was named chairman, president and CEO of Mellon Financial Corp., confirmed spokesman Ken Herz. Martin McGuinn, current chairman and CEO, will retire on Feb. 13 when Mr. Kelly joins the firm. The president's position has been vacant for several years, said Mr. Herz. Mr. Kelly has been CFO and senior executive vice president at Wachovia Corp. since 2000; Thomas Wurtz, Wachovia treasurer and head of the bank's treasury and planning division, will be the new CFO, said spokeswoman Mary Eshet.
