Brian Harrington was named senior vice president of institutional marketing, sales and client service at Mercantile Bankshares Corp., confirmed spokeswoman Janice Davis. The position is new and was created to unite sales and service of Mercantile's investment and wealth management units, which have roughly $21 billion in assets. Mr. Harrington was most recently a partner with Brown Advisory, an investment advisory and brokerage firm, in charge of institutional marketing and client service. He was replaced by principal Charlie Constable.
Bryce Sutton was named regional director for West Coast sales and marketing at BKF Capital Group. Mr. Sutton will report to Stephen Eckenberger, BKF's senior vice president of sales and marketing. Before joining BKF, Mr. Sutton was a senior vice president for institutional brokerage sales at Lynch, Jones & Ryan.
Michael E. Duncan joined 40/86 Advisors Inc. as assistant vice president of private placements, said Timothy Powell, vice president and director of private placements. The position is new. Mr. Duncan had been a private placement securities analyst with Jefferson Pilot Financial.
