John Shanklin was named senior consultant at Alan D. Biller & Associates. It is a new position, said Alan Biller, the firm's president and founder. Mr. Shanklin was a senior consultant with Segal Advisors. Segal Advisors is handling Mr. Shanklin's caseload with its existing staff and evaluating whether to replace him, said Mary Feldman, spokeswoman.
Deana Hannah, director of the State of Tennessee Deferred Compensation Program, Nashville, retired today. She will be replaced by Beth Chapman, who was audit manager and director of unclaimed property for the state treasury department. Ms. Hannah has been director of the program, which includes a $738 million 401(k) plan and a $140 million 457 plan, since 1981.
Erik Knutzen joined Standish Mellon Asset Management as director of sales, marketing and client service, according to a news release. Mr. Knutzen was founder of Garret Capital Management, a hedge fund company he managed for the past year that is now closed. Prior to that, he was managing director of institutional portfolio management and investment service at Putnam Investments. Mr. Knutzen could not be reached for comment by press time.
