Montana Public Employees' Retirement Board, Helena, hired Communications and Management Services to help recruit a new executive director. A contract offer made to Terry Teichrow in October was withdrawn Nov. 21 after Gov. Brian Schweitzer said the board may have violated the state's open meeting and public participation laws in the process of hiring Mr. Teichrow, a grant writer for the state and a former retirement board president.
It may take up to three months to name a successor, according to an employee who asked not to be named. The current executive director, Michael O'Connor, will retire at year end. An interim appointment has not yet been made.
