Maryland State Retirement and Pension System, Baltimore, hired Dimensional Fund Advisors and GlobeFlex Capital to run $200 million and $100 million, respectively, in active small-cap international equities, said Steven C. Huber, CIO. The $33.5 billion system also hired three enhanced domestic equity index managers to run about $433 million each: T. Rowe Price, Payden & Rygel Investment Management and Smith Breeden Associates. The portfolios were added as a result of an asset allocation study last year. Funding will come from rebalancing; no managers were terminated.
