Crain Communications Inc., publisher of Pensions & Investments, is launching FinancialWeek, a newspaper for corporate financial executives.
A pilot issue will be published June 5, 2006. FinancialWeek will begin publishing every other Monday in September, and then will increase its frequency to weekly in January 2007.
FinancialWeek, to be found on the web at www. efinancialweek.com, is designed to satisfy the growing information needs of corporate financial executives. "Finance continues to be one of the business world's most important and dynamic subjects. It's a great topic for a hard-hitting business newspaper…" said Rance Crain, president of Crain Communications.
Among FinancialWeek's areas of coverage: finance techniques; risk management; benefits finance; corporate governance; investment management; accounting; information technology; real estate; and compliance and reporting.
William T. Bisson Jr. will be publisher of FinancialWeek; he is publisher of P&I and InvestmentNews. His goal, he said, is to "create a newspaper that is serious, fast-paced and comprehensive — a newspaper with immediacy that captures the flair and drama of finance, yet consistently serves as a working tool for its readers."
FinancialWeek will be based in Crain's New York City offices.
Crain publishes more than 30 business-to-business newspapers and magazines.
