Donny R. Myers was appointed executive director of the $2.3 billion Houston Firefighters' Relief & Retirement Fund. He replaces acting executive director Christopher Gonzales, who will remain the fund's CIO, according to Jonathan Needle, general counsel. Mr. Gonzales had replaced Max Patterson, who left the fund last summer upon mutual agreement with the board. Mr. Myers will give up his role as board chairman and will retire as an active firefighter. He had been on the board since 1991. The fund will hold a special election to replace Mr. Myers on the board and the board will then hold a special meeting to elect a new chairman.
