DeKalb Employee Retirement System, Decatur, Ga., decided not to terminate two equity managers that were under review for performance, said Paul Wright, pension administrator. Montag & Caldwell Investment Counsel runs $75 million in active domestic large-cap growth equities for the $1.1 billion pension plan, and Crawford Investment Counsel manages $25 million in active domestic large-cap value equities. The decision was made after presentations by both firms before the investment committee and consultant Callan Associates.
Neither Charlie Markwalter, Montag & Caldwell portfolio manager, nor officials at Crawford returned calls by press time.
