Florida State Board of Administration, Tallahassee, hired PanAgora Asset Management to run $250 million in active domestic small-cap core equities, said Michael P. McCauley, spokesman for the $112.2 billion system. Mr. McCauley said the mandate would be benchmarked against the Russell 2000 index. He declined to discuss the funding source. According to the Money Market Directory, as of Dec. 31 the Florida fund had small-cap equity mandates with Babson Capital Management and Batterymarch.
