Federated Investors launched an enhanced index strategy for institutional investors, according to a news release. The firm's "Market Plus Strategy" is a short-duration fixed-income portfolio that also uses swaps and futures to mimic the returns of the S&P 500 index. Donald T. Ellenberger, senior vice president and senior portfolio manager, and Christopher J. Smith, vice president and portfolio manager, will run the new strategy.
