

Joanna Munro was named global CIO of HSBC Investments, according to a statement from the firm. She will report to Alain Dromer, global CEO of HSBC Investments. Ms. Munro is head of U.K. institutional and global consultant relations at AXA Investment Managers and will leave the firm Sept. 16, said Zaman Toleafoa, AXA spokesman. She will be replaced by Alastair Cuming, who will have the new title of head of U.K. institutional business. He will have the same responsibilities Ms. Munro had, Mr. Toleafoa said. Mr. Cuming reports to Paul Griffiths, CEO of AXA Investment Managers' U.K. arm, and Nathalie Boullefort-Fulconis, global head of sales and marketing at AXA Investment Managers in Paris. Mr. Cuming was head of U.K. institutional business at Deutsche Asset Management. DeAM spokeswoman Lucy Davidson said the firm did not replace Mr. Cuming, and his responsibilities have been divided among staff. Officials at HSBC were unavailable for comment by press time.
Erik Hinrichsen and Edwin Tweedy were named as senior managing directors and partners at Energy Arbitrage Management, a new energy arbitrage investment company created by M.D. Sass. The new firm will develop market-neutral equity derivative strategies, according to a news release. Mr. Hinrichsen founded his own firm, ERK Energy, a wholesale energy business, which now has closed. Mr. Tweedy was most recently an independent energy consultant.
