Orleans Capital Management has relocated to Houston from New Orleans because of Hurricane Katrina. Farrell Crane, the firm's vice president and general counsel, said all of the firm's 32 employees were able to leave New Orleans before the hurricane hit the city on Monday. "We left on Friday and Saturday," said Mr. Farrell. "A lot of us have family here, and we have a relationship with Simmons & Co. International (a Houston-based investment banker focused on the energy industry), so Houston was the relocation target in our disaster recovery plan." Mr. Crane said it is yet to be determined if the firm will ever return to New Orleans. The firm manages about $2 billion.
